Proper Pimple Popping Steps For Success

By

What if you wake up with a pimple and need a quick solution? Some may say pimple popping is the way to go. Therefore, if you must, here are the proper steps to follow:

1. Cleanse the face with a water-soluble cleanser.

2. Exfoliate the skin over the pimple with a product containing salicylic acid to help it come out.

3. Steam the targeted area.

4. Cover index fingers with tissues and gently squeeze the pimple towards the center to pop that zit. Be sure to change the tissues after each oozing of pus, so not to spread the infection to other areas of the face.

5. To remove bacteria from your skin's surface, apply an antiseptic to the affected area.

6. Apply a clay-based or antibacterial mask.

7. Using a Q-Tip, dab a little bit of benzoyl peroxide directly to the pimple area.

Now that you know how to popthatzit, realize that pimple popping need not be the first line of defense. With that being said, there are other ways to deal with zits, especially those that are not ready to be popped. When a person opts to treat acne rather than trying to get rid of pimples fast, there are many things that can be done to help prevent the formation of pimples in the first place.

Allow your face opportunities to be cleansed, an acne treatment applied and then leave it free of makeup. This will give your skin the best chance to heal on its own.

If you are going out and feeling a bit inhibited by a pimple or two, after you have thoroughly cleansed the face, you can use a medicated cover-up to lessen the acne's visibility and redness.

If you decide to use an over-the-counter acne treatment medication to help your face heal, you might consider selecting one that contains salicylic acid rather than benzoyl peroxide as it is a gentler product. Yet, do realize that such chemical treatments can dry out your skin or cause other reactions if used too often. Therefore, if you are using a product that does contain either of these ingredients, you will want to watch your skin carefully to insure that it does not dry out and become flaky, irritated, or inflamed. It is best to use a light moisturizer after applying either of these products to keep your skin supple and properly hydrated.

You will also want to be careful as you wash your face and/or apply products so you do not rub too hard, as this can irritate your skin.

As much as possible, try to keep your face free of dirt and oil. This means do not touch your face with your hands. Your skin's natural oils and any dirt and germs your fingertips may have touched could be inadvertently rubbed onto your skin.

Lastly, if you are unable to get control of your acne, be sure to consult a dermatologist, as there may be an underlying problem that is contributing to your outbreaks. In addition, a physician will be able to prescribe both topical and internal medications that can assist you in your endeavor to get rid of acne fast!
