Sometimes when we experience pimples, our self-confidence plummets and feelings of inadequacy and being unattractive rapidly creep into our psyche. As we look in the mirror and feel a sense of hopelessness, our zits popping commences.
With respect to anyone who battles with pimples, or simply an intermittent blemish every now and then, a person most definitely has come to have some form of understanding as to how to do pimple popping. This is likely the most typical solution one opts to select when trying to get rid of acne fast.
On this page, as an esthetician, I will discuss how to pop that zit safely and effectively. Check out how your zit popping procedure lines up.
Proper Pimple Popping Procedure
Step 1: Start by washing your hands with warm soapy water.
Step 2: Cleanse your face or at least the area that contains the pimple(s) thoroughly with a water-soluble cleanser.
Step 3: Exfoliate the pimple(s) using salicylic acid. This is a wonderful ingredient that will not only help to loosen and remove the dead skin cells, but will also encourage the pimple to evacuate. Take your time, as this is a very important step in the ultimate success of your being able to eliminate pimples.
Step 4: Hold a warm, moist washcloth over the pimple for a few minutes to soften the area. If the washcloth cools down, run it under hot water again and continue to press it to the pimple. If you have access to a tabletop steamer, this could be used in lieu of the washcloth.
Step 5: Gently squeeze the pimple using tissue covered index fingers. As the white pus comes out of the pimple, carefully wipe it onto the tissue and discard. Wrap the fingers with clean tissues and repeat the process until you release the clear liquid and/or a little blood. It is very important that you keep changing the tissue cots, so not to spread the bacteria elsewhere on your face.
Step 6: Clean the area using a cotton ball or a Q-Tip and a little benzoyl peroxide to kill off the acne-causing bacteria.
Step 7: Dab a little Aloe Vera onto the area where the pimple was previously residing. If it's bedtime, cover with a Band-Aid until morning.
Zit Popping Caution
I would be remiss if I didn't include a cautionary statement about pimple popping. I know that it is very tempting to break out a needle, sterilize it and start picking. However, speaking as not only an esthetician, but also as a former acne-sufferer who did just that and has the acne scar to prove it, refrain yourselves. Do not pick your pimples with needles.
I don't know if you realize this, but many states don't even allow estheticians to use lancets (needles) when popping pimples. Believe me, there are very good reasons to just keep your needles for sewing purposes and not allow them anywhere in the vicinity of your pimples.
